Francis “Gig” Martin Loughlin, 92, passed from this world on July 28, 2017.
Gig was born on April 28, 1925 in South Bend, IN to William H. and Bernadette M. Loughlin. He was the third child in a family of ten. He is survived by five siblings; his children, William (Paula), Wayne (Cecelia), Elizabeth (Mike), and Mary Jo (Paul); eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his Evalyn, his wife of 65 years.
During World War II, he served in the Army Corps of Engineers in Europe and re-enlisted in the Army Air Force. He went on to graduate from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business/Accounting. Gig helped run the family pulp tree farm in Otter Creek, FL for several years before settling in St. Lucie County. He was a state auditor for over 25 years for the four county area.
Gig was active in Boy Scouts, IRS Volunteer Tax Assistance, Kiwanis, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, and the Ft. Pierce Amateur Radio Club. He loved his Hamm Radio days and was proud to be WB4NOZ.
He will fondly be remembered for his stories, his art of always being prepared and self-reliant, and for his undying love and loyalty to his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church on October 21, 2017 at 2:00pm with a reception to follow at his home.
