Francis Michael Dougherty, 87, died December 24, 2009 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Dougherty was born in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1963 coming from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Francis was an auto mechanic with General Motors and prior to retirement, worked with Reid Automotive. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII and earned a Purple Heart in the Battle of the Bulge. He trained on North Hutchinson Island with the Scouts & Raiders.
Survivors include his son, Ray Michael Dougherty of Corpus Christi, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Pearl Dougherty, son, Gordon Foster Dougherty and step-daughters, Carolyn Smith and Betty Lewis.
Services: A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Military Honors at Haisley Funeral Home.
