Frank Velez of Fort Pierce passed away on January 17, 2014. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 4, 1935, son of Pedro & Carmen Velez.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Grace of 58 years, sons: Peter (Anne) & Frank (Jo Ann) & preceded in death by son Jimmy.
Also survived by 5 grandchildren, Brett Alberici (Jennifer), John Alberici (Laura), Tony Velez, Derek Velez, & Jessica Velez. 6 great grandchildren, Renata, Lucy, Maerin, Liam, Isabella, & Natalie. Sister, Elba De Caro, brothers, Victor (Camille) & Peter (Anita). He also had many beloved nieces and nephews.
Frank worked for Brooklyn Union Gas Co in N.Y. for 35 years, and was very proud of his time served in the U.S. Navy for 38 years in both the regular and in the Navy Reserves.
He was an avid Mets fan, both of the New York & St. Lucie Mets; he attended every game in Port St Lucie. He was also a New York Giant football fan.
He dearly loved his wife & family & his love of life gave him many friends far & wide. He will be missed by all who knew him.
