He was a carpenter and lumber yard owner until he moved to Ft. Pierce in 1946, at which time he owned & operated Modern Trailer Sales & Homesites and Modern Marine Supplies, he was an avid flyer and member of the Civil Air Patrol & flew his own plane until the age of 83, and was in the Coast Guard Auxiliary during WWII & patrolled the shores of Long Island.Survivors include his daughter, Fay Lowe of Ft. Pierce, FL; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, he was preceded in death by his son, Charles.It was Fred’s request that anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution, should spend it on their own grandchildren.
