Gail Laetitia Cofer (Cardell) Church, 74, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at The Broadmoor Assisted Living Facility in Fort Pierce, FL, surrounded by family after a long fight with Alzheimer’s disease. Gail was born in Tucker, GA, December 26, 1936, and moved from the Atlanta area to Fort Pierce in 1942.

She attended St. Anastasia Catholic School in Fort Pierce and Bessie Tift College in Forsyth, GA. Gail worked at Southern Bell Telephone, Port St. Lucie Medical Center and the Post Office.

She is survived by John Sanford (Jackie) Cardell, Fort Pierce, Tish (Bill) Matthews and Betsy (Darilynn) Russell of Vero Beach, Troy Albert (Robyn) Church, Fort Pierce, Bill (Hester) Church of Reston, VA, Vicki Church, Terri (Bill) Carter, Gainesville and Kim Church Ritchie, Warner Robbins, GA.

Grandchildren: Josh Cardell, Frank Cardell, Sandra Gail Cardell, Justin Albert Jackson, James Sumter Tyree, William Matthews, Tiffany Matthews, Drey Lynn Russell, Gwyndolynn Laetitia Russell, Madelyn Denise Church, Olyvia Anne Church, Adam Christopher Nan Church, Emily Jan Lu Church, Christopher Benefield, Melissa Ritchie & November Church.

Great-Grandchildren: Austin Lee Jackson, Ada Gwynne Jackson, Georgia Mae Jackson and Parker Johnathan Martin. Brothers, Billy Cofer, Fort Pierce and Frank H. Cofer, Jr. Hoschton, GA, sister, Frances Fulghum, Jacksonville.

Gail was predeceased by her husband Albert Leroy Church, father and mother, Frank H. and Bertie Reynolds Cofer, brother, Olin Sanford Cofer II, grandchild, MaryKathryn Church and great-grandchild, Logan Albert Jackson.

Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2011 from 5-7 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A service will be conducted on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
