George Berle Brown
George B. Brown, age 79, passed away at home in Fort Pierce, FL on Sunday, November 29, 2020.
He was born in Darlington, Maryland on November 10, 1941, to Reverend and Mrs. John Brown.
George began working for H&S Citrus in 1971. His love of fruit and hard work ethic … allowed him the great honor of being CEO and President of H&S Citrus until it closed. He loved flying ultra-lights, fishing, gardening, and feeding people. His ribs were famous all over the US.
George is survived by Paulette Tyson Burgess and Barbara Reeves Brown, children Cynthia Levengood (Ken), Martin Brown (Kim), and Robert Brown. Seven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren; Siblings Dodson Brown (Jane), C. Jackson Brown (Martie), Reverend Gerald Brown (Mary) and Clarene Brown Richardson. In addition, John Burgess as well as many nieces and nephews around the country.
He is preceded in death by his parents Reverend and Mrs. John Brown, brother Milton Brown and grandson, Bryan Levengood.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made in George’s name to Family Meals Inc. of Ft. Pierce 4816 Sunset Blvd. Fort Pierce, FL. 34982. A nonprofit that provides uncooked food for the working poor. http://familymealsinc.org/
A private family service will be held Friday, December 4, 2020 at White City Cemetery.
