George Ray Chandler

George Ray Chandler, 63, died May 4, 2012 in Vero Beach, Florida.

Mr. Chandler was raised in Lakeland, Florida and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1984.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was a pilot and worked for Piper Aircraft. He holds a Repairman Operational Restriction License with the FAA. Ray was a Quality Assurance Manager for Packers of Indian River. He was a member of the Florida Citrus League, Indian River County Citrus League, Food Safety and Good Agricultural Practice, and served with Lee Partners in Quality. He also obtained numerous food and safety qualifications. Ray was an avid golfer, outdoorsman, and Florida Gator Fan.

He is survived by his wife, of 35 years, Mary Yearwood Chandler of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Chandler Byrd of Vero Beach, FL and Lori Anne Chandler Hargrave of Ft. Pierce, FL; mother, Elizabeth Louise Duke of Lakeland, FL; 5 grandsons. He was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene Bates.

Services: A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2012 from 5-6 PM with a service to follow at 6:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Lakeland Memorial Gardens in Lakeland, Florida.
