George P. Hiers, Sr passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Hiers moved to Fort Pierce, Florida in 1968 coming from New Jersey.
George retired from the United States Air Force serving during Vietnam, where he did two tours. He then worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company until he retired. He loved to fish.
Survivors include his son, Paul Hiers, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida; daughters, Jo Ann Alter and Debra Zacher both of Fort Pierce, Florida; grandchildren, Matthew Hiers, Jeremy Hiers, Zachary Hiers, Maggie Temple, Chelsea Hiers, Louis Alter and Melody Alter; great grandchildren, Ben Temple and Jack Temple. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan M. Hiers and his son, Richard G. Hiers.
Visitation will be held at Haisley Funeral Home on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 5-7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, September 18, 2015 at White City Cemetery. Arrangements will be under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
