Gerald Gordon “Jerry” Gould, age 87 years, died Monday evening, April 12, 2010 at the Laurel Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation facility in Fort Pierce, FL, after several years of failing health.
Mr. Gould was born 23 July 1922 in Augusta, NJ the son of Warren and Lottie (Dietz) Gould. He moved from Newton, NJ to Florida in 1951 where he went back to school to learn the trade of a sheet metal worker. Mr. Gould was in the United States Army during World War II, serving in the European Theater of Operations, Normandy & Rhineland Campaigns, 5 Dec 1943-13 Nov 1945 and was the recipient of the Purple Heart.
Mr. Gould leaves his wife of 68 years, Beulah ( Snook) Gould who he married in Lafayette, NJ in 1942; three children, William (Joy) Gould, Nancy (Ken) Pascal, and John Gould, all of Fort Pierce, FL; 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; two half brothers, Lee Conklin of Claymont, DE, “Bucky” Gould of Tarpon Springs, FL; and two half-sisters, Kay Conklin of Tarpon Springs, FL and Irene Gannon of Claymont, DE; several nieces and nephews. His brother, Ambrose “Lucky” Gould, died in 2005.
