GERARD J. PARENTEAU, JR.

Gerard J. Parenteau, Jr. 68, died July 15, 2011, in Fort Pierce, Florida.

He was born September 4, 1942, in Oneco, Connecticut, to the late Gerard and Annie Parenteau and was a resident of Fort Pierce, Florida, coming from Plainfield, Connecticut in 1989.

Mr. Parenteau was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and his life centered around his family and God. He served in the United States Marine Corps., worked for American Standard in Connecticut, was the Project Manager in the Central Services Department for St. Lucie County, FL and was an active member and elder of Genesis Community Church in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Parenteau of Fort Pierce, FL; 3 children: daughter Denise (Charles) Gordils, son Jason (Rebecca) Parenteau and daughter Stacy (Jesse) Moore; brothers: Stephen (Roberta) Parenteau of Stonington, CT, Bruce Parenteau of Sterling, CT; sisters, Joyce (Hans) Kvist of Lisbon, CT and Susan (Albert) Langlois of Plainfield, CT; 8 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Genesis Community Church, 8643 South US1, Port St. Lucie, FL 34952.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 19th from 5 to 8:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home Chapel. There will be a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, July 20th at 11:00 A.M. at the Genesis Community Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
