Glen McKean, 90, died at St. Lucie Medical Center, Port St. Lucie on May 22, 2008.
He was born in Winner, South Dakota. His family moved to Iowa when he was 7, where he grew up and went to school.He worked at the Social Security Headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland for almost 36 years, retiring as a Division Director. He subsequently moved to Florida where he worked as a Real Estate Agent for several years and has lived in Fort Pierce for 8 years.He was a Veteran of WWII. He entered the Army as an enlisted man and later received a commission as an Officer in the Medical Administrative Corps.He was a member of the Indian River Presbyterian Church in Fort Pierce and a member of the Elks Club for 26 years. He enjoyed outdoor activities and played golf until he was 90.Survivors include his wife, Joan; daughters, Beverly (Niles) Casebere of North East, MD, Margaret (Mark) Joiner of Rehobeth Beach, DE; brother, Lloyd (Jean) McKean of Santa Maria, CA; three step-children; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one grandchild.Memorial contributions may be made to the Harry Anna Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 49, Umatilla, FL 32784.Services: A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home.
