Grace Patricia Bonanzi Deross

Grace Patricia Bonanzi DeRoss, 92, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully July 5, 2017, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born January 15, 1925, and was raised in Brooklyn, NY.

She was a synchronized swimmer on a swim team in Brooklyn, New York. Grace’s first job was working as a runner on Wall Street. She married her childhood sweetheart, Joe, and in 1953 they relocated to Hialeah, Florida. She worked for Marian Polan Talent Agency for several years before becoming an administrative assistant at a financial institution. She loved shopping and the beach and was a wonderful cook. She also shared her passion for all of the Miami teams; Marlins, Dolphins and the Heat with her husband of 59 years. She was a strong woman, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her kindness, her smile, the twinkle in her eyes and her gravy.

Grace is survived by her son, Joseph DeRoss, Jr. (Diane Trabulsy); daughter, Patricia Scottaline (Steve Ripley); granddaughters, Kristi Scottaline, Kelley Deaton (Adam), and Kristen Guettler (Matthew); grandsons, Matthew DeRoss & Blake DeRoss (Jennie), and Michael Trabulsy (Kristin), great-grandchildren, Devin, Karley & Molley Deaton. Grace will be missed by her loving and dedicated caregiver of over four years, Mitzie Russell. Grace was loved by many; there is not one person who did not fall in love with her once they met her. She will be deeply missed.

Services: Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 4-6 PM with a Wake Service at 5:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Fort Pierce. Entombment will follow at Riverview Memorial Park.
