 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Grete Pauley, who left us peacefully on September 20, 2024, at the age of 99. Grete was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend, known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit.

Born on February 5th, 1925, in Hinnenburg, Germany. Grete had lived a great life with many adventures and stories made along the way. Grete moved to St. Lucie County in December 1968 with her husband, Clarence Pauley, and two sons, Clarence E. Pauley Jr. and Raymond Pauley, where they had built their forever home. Along the way, Grete met a dear lifelong friend, Pat Moran, where they spent much time and many adventures together after they had both lost their husband.

Grete's home was a sanctuary of warmth, love, and laughter, where everyone felt welcome and cherished. Her infectious smile and generous spirit created an inviting atmosphere that drew family and friends together, turning every gathering into a joyful celebration. Grete had a unique ability to make each person feel special, whether through her delicious meals, comforting words, or simply her presence. She was a master storyteller, captivating us all with tales from her past, weaving together laughter and lessons that brought our family history to life. Her legacy of kindness and the countless memories made within her walls will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her.

Grete is survived by her two sons, Clarence E. Pauley Jr. and Raymond Pauley, daughter-in­law, Tresa Holmes-Pauley, grandchildren, Denice Cox, Summer Held, Daniel Pauley, Sarah Meeks, Ryan Pauley, Tyler Pauley, Erika Pauley, and Lexi Pauley, 13 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory. She was a guiding light in their lives, and her love will continue to inspire them.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Pauley, parents, Martha and Wilhem Czichon, and her siblings, Grutrude, Erika, Wanda, Helmet.

There will be a small viewing held for immediate family on Wednesday, September 25th, 2024, from 8:45-9:30am at the Haisley Funeral Home followed by burial service for all family and friends at White City Cemetery at 1 0am. A celebration of Grete's life will be held in February 2025. An exact date and time are still being determined, but all updated information will be on the "Celebration of Life - Grete Pauley" event page on Face book. Friends and family are welcome to join in honoring her legacy. 

Grete Pauley will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
