Gwendolyn (Gwen) Emoline Messer, 81, of Sebastian Florida, passed away on Feb 11, 2022.
Gwen was born in Hemp, GA on July 16, 1940, to the late Ted and Dicie Hughes.
Gwen was raised in Ellijay Ga and moved to Florida in 1958, where she met her husband of 33 years Franklin Messer. They were married on April 1, 1959. Together they raised three children, son Ricky Messer, and daughters, Deborah Heller, and Beverly White.
She is survived by her two daughters Deborah Heller, and her husband Chai Heller of Sebastian and Beverly White of Fort Pierce, four grandsons Robert Nolan, and wife Valeria Nolan, Edwin Peterson, Irby White, and Michael Messer; two granddaughters Savanah White, and Courtnie Heller; two great grandchildren Lily and Liam Nolan.
She is also survived by her sister Sue Nunn and husband Jerry Nunn of Acworth, GA, brother, Ronald Hughes and wife Bonnie Hughes, Ellijay, GA, sister-in-law Yvonne Whalen of Vero Beach and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Franklin Messer, son Ricky Messer, granddaughter Kimberly White, father Ted Hughes, Mother Dicie Hughes, sister Catherine Cox, and brothers Reed Hughes, Calvin Hughes, Arnold Hughes and mother-in-law Sarah Waters and father-in-law Frank Waters.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Feb 20, 2022, at Haisley Funeral & Crematorium, 3015 Okeechobee Rd. Fort Pierce, FL. Visitation will be held on Feb 18 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and on Feb. 20 from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Burial will follow the funeral service at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach, FL.
