H.B. Moore

H.B. Moore, 81, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on August 10, 2009 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.

Mr. Moore was a native of Ft. Pierce, Florida.

He graduated from Ft. Pierce High School, Class of 1946, served in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne, and attended the University of Miami and Stetson University. He was self employed with Moore’s Garden and Appliance (formerly Hawkins Supply) for 25 years and was a realtor from 1981-2008. He was also an active member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church of Ft. Pierce for 65 years.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Gloria Moore of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughter & son-in-law, Miriam Charles & husband Peter of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughter, Joy Moore-Hatch & husband Ray of Ft. Pierce, FL; brother & sister-in-law, Donald B. Moore & wife Polly of Ft. Pierce, FL; grandchildren, Jennifer Garrity & husband Joe of Ft. Pierce, FL, Christopher Hall & wife Kim of Ft. Pierce, FL, Mark Moore & wife Lisa of Micco, FL, and Michael Moore of Vero Beach, FL; great-grandchildren, Marcus Sigmon, Bradley Garrity, and Kyndall Hall all of Ft. Pierce, FL and Mark Andrew Moore II of Micco, FL. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Andrew Moore.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 210 South Indian River Drive, Ft. Pierce, FL 34950 or to the Heathcote Botanical Gardens, 210 Savannah Road, Ft. Pierce, FL 34982.

Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009 from 5-7 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Burial will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
