Harold Newland Hinton "Newt", 81 years of age, went home to be with Jesus on January 24, 2017.
A loving husband to Shirley Hinton. They were married on February 4, 1956 and shared over 60 beautiful years together. He is also remembered by his siblings Gene Hinton and Laura Lee Jones and children Tracie Cooper, Tammy Hinton and Kenny Hinton. He was "Granddaddy" to 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Harold was born on November 10, 1935 in Ellenboro, WV. He began serving in the United States Army in 1954 and moved to Fort Pierce in 1955.
Harold worked hard all of his life with his first job at the age of 12. On September 30, 1970 he opened his own business, "Hinton's Radiator Shop" better known as "The best place in town to take a leak". The shop remained opened for 35 years serving the people of Fort Pierce and the surrounding areas.
Harold loved to hunt and play UNO but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a man of his word and gave more in his 81 years than we can imagine. He was a father and role model to so many more than his 3 children. We will always love him and truly cherish our memories of him. There was never a person that came in contact with Harold that wasn't touched by his kindness and generosity. We will carry him with us, tucked in our hearts until we meet him again one day.
