Herbert Alvin Pofahl

Herbert Alvin Pofahl, 85, died October 14, 2007 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.Mr. Pofahl was born in Akron, Ohio and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1964 coming from Kent, Ohio.He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the 101st Airborne in WWII and served as well in the Korean War. He was a long time member of the Elks Club and AmVets. Locally he was a former commodore of the Pelican Yacht Club and owned Herb’s Auto Parts.pSurvivors include his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth J. Pofahl of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughters, Jacqueline Jarvis of Uniontown, OH, Christine E. Smith of Tucson, AZ and Cynthia F. Cobb of Port St. Lucie, FL; son, William L. Planer of Ft. Pierce, FL; sister, Lillian Hoffman of Akron, OH; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.Services: A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2007 at 2:00 PM at White City Cemetery.
