Hilliard L. “Buck” Johnson, 87, passed away on January 26, 2022 in Bolivia, North Carolina.
Hilliard was born on November 06, 1934 in Coffee County, Alabama to parents Cleve and Bena Johnson. He was a trade electrician before he moved into a career of trucking. Buck hauled RC Cola from Fort Pierce to South Miami for 10 years and hauled citrus for Lloyd Citrus for over 30 years. He went on to become the owner and operator of his own company, A and H Trucking for 40 years in Fort Pierce, Florida. Hilliard was a jack of all trades and was proudly the oldest charter member of Orange Avenue Baptist Church.
Buck is survived by many loving family members, including his wife, Peggy Russ Johnson of North Carolina, daughter Kim (Larry) Prevo of Florida, son Keith (Wanda) Johnson of Florida, stepdaughter Taffy (Jim) Gause of North Carolina, stepson Taft Russ of Florida, sisters Martha (Buddy) Goins, Carol Hunt, and Barbara Rainey all of Florida, and multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bobbie Joyce Johnson, daughter Kathy Greany, brother Cecil Johnson of Alabama, sister Agnes Davis, and parents Cleve and Bena Johnson.
A visitation will be held at Haisley Funeral Home (3015 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34947) on Tuesday, February 01, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A service will follow at 1:00 pm.
