Ira “Scooter” Potter, 86, died June 3, 2009 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.

Mr. Potter was born in Pike County, Kentucky and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1971 coming from Fairfax, Virginia.

Prior to retirement, he was a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Eagles Lodge. Scooter loved fishing, photography and collecting things.

Survivors include his wife, Jewel Potter; son, Tommie D. Potter; daughters, Zandra Hardman and Kathy Kemp all of Ft. Pierce, FL; sister, Easter Cantrell of Tennessee; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, George and Levy Potter and sisters, Minnie Elkins, Delphia Fleming, Bess Cable, Mae Hawkins, and Julie Cable.

Services: Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009 from 5-7 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A service will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow at Riverview Memorial Park.
