J. Leonard Mullinix, 85, died March 15, 2007 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.Mr. Mullinix was born in Cedar Grove, Maryland and moved to Ft. Pierce, Florida in 1990.He graduated from Damascus High School in 1939, he was a farmer, carpenter and retired as Director of Maintenance for Montgomery County Board of Education after 25 years. He was a member of the Lions Club, Damascus, Maryland serving as President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer and Tailtwister.
He served as Treasurer and President of the Ft. Pierce Lions Club, active in the Florida Eye Bank. District 22C for the State of Maryland and served as the Secretary/Treasurer, Deputy District Governor and finally serving as the District Governor.He was an avid bowler and golfer who really enjoyed his retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, A. Roberta Jones; son, J. Larry Mullinix and wife, Jan of Damascus, MD; brother, William E. Mullinix & wife, Carol of Damascus, MD; nieces, Janet McCloughan and husband, David, Nancy Coonrod and husband, Jim, Janet Elaine Runkles and husband, Roger and Debbie Lowman; he was preceded in death by his son, Wayne L. Mullinix.
