Jack Irvin, 78, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away on August 25, 2021 in Fort Pierce, FL under hospice care.
Jack was born in Altoona, PA on July 15, 1943 to Melvin and Nelda Irvin. On April 13, 1996, he married Sandra F. Melius. Jack was a Veteran of the United States Army and served as an Army Pilot during Vietnam. He earned multiple Master’s Degrees from Pittsburgh State University. Jack was active in the Fort Pierce Elk’s Lodge, the MOAA – Port St. Lucie, Florida branch, SAR of Stuart, and the SLC Veteran’s DAV; he loved working with High School’s ROTC programs.
When Jack wasn’t assisting and honoring veterans like himself, he took an active interest in railroads and adopting old Labradors from rescue organizations.
Survivors include; beloved wife, Sandra Melius-Irvin; daughter, Kelley Cabrera of Arkansas; step-son, John Chmiel of New Jersey; step-daughters, Dena Chmiel of Orlando, FL, Traci Chmiel of West Palm Beach, FL, Nicole Melius of Rockledge, FL; granddaughter, Sydney Troncalli of Arkansas; grandson, Myles Troncalli of Arkansas; grandson, Jason Cabrera of Oklahoma. He was predeceased by his parents, Melvin and Nelda Irvin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to any Veteran’s Organization, High School ROTC program, or Lab Rescue of FL.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 5PM to 7PM at the Haisley Tribute Center. A service will take place on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 10AM at the Haisley Tribute Center with burial to follow at Rolling Oaks Cemetery.
