It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jacob Henry Alvey. He passed peacefully on December 9, 2023. He was born August 1,1977 in Fort Pierce, Florida. He was a graduate of Fort Pierce Westwood High School and the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. In addition to being an incredible Chef in his own right, he was also a Research and Development Chef involved in creating recipes and dishes for prominent national restaurants across the United States.
Jacob loved to fish and was an avid poker player. He loved his family. Throughout his life, he had never met a stranger and is best known for his infectious laugh, witty sense of humor and caring spirit. He was always willing to help someone in need.
He is preceded in death by: his fathers, Jeffery Hardman and Jerome Merry (Bubba) Gray Jr.; and grandparents, Henry Virgil Alvey, Jeanne Alvey Scott, Marion Jacob Scott, James Hardman and Barbara L. Summerlin.
He is survived by his mother Jeanne Alvey Gray (Thomas Schafer), children Kadan and Kashlyn Stalker, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be at Haisley Funeral Home Wednesday, December 20th from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. followed by memorial service at 6:00 p.m. In honor of Jacob, the family asks that everyone come in floral or tropical attire.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation in Jacob’s memory to the Fort Pierce Sportfishing Club’s Kids Fishing Clinic, 1206 Fleetwood Lane, Fort Pierce, Florida 34982.
