James “Greg” Gregory Cousins

Greg Cousins, 60, passed away on October 19, 2020 in Okeechobee, FL.
Greg was born in West Palm Beach, FL to John David Cousins Sr. and Barbara Anne Haynes on October 29, 1959 and grew up in East Blue Hill, Maine. He graduated from George Stevens Academy in 1978. Later, Greg relocated to Fort Pierce, FL where he met the love of his life Katie Burnett.

He loved to fish and hunt, but Greg’s most cherished time was spent with his friends and family. His love for fishing turned into his daily job. Greg was a commercial fisherman both in Florida and in Maine. He caught many different species from lobstering in Maine to sword fishing here in Florida.

Greg is survived by his longtime companion, Katie Burnett of Fort Pierce, FL; Children, Todd and Reilly Cousins both of Maine; Step children, Kayla (Zach) McCarty and Kolby Carroll both of Okeechobee, FL; Brothers, David Cousins and Matthew (Anneliese Riggall) Cousins both of Maine; Sister, Jill Mayfield Maggio of North Carolina; Five Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John David Cousins Sr. and his mother, Barbara Anne Haynes Cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on November 7, 2020 at the St. Lucie School House located at 2501 Old Dixie Highway in Fort Pierce, FL from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
