James E. Merritt

James has been set free; he was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 29, 2009. He was 67 years old. He was born and raised in Wilmington, NC and has been a resident of Fort Pierce since 1969. He worked at Rent Wear Uniforms for thirty years and was Route Supervisor for most of that time. He loved his job and was a great asset to the company until he was injured in 1997. He attended Oleander Church of God where he was saved and was blessed in a mighty way.

He was survived by his wife of 45 years Margo; a son Jim Merritt of Winston Salem, NC; two daughters Lynne Alfaro of Vero Beach, FL, Kaye Scott of Port St. Lucie, FL; 4 grandchildren and his brother Dale Merritt of Wilmington, NC.

Services: Visitation will be held at Haisley Funeral Home on Friday, April 3rd from 5-8 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at Oleander Avenue Church of God, 3212 Oleander Avenue, Fort Pierce, on Saturday, April 4th at 11:30 AM.
