James W. Elam

James W. Elam, 92, died September 30, 2016, in Stuart, Florida.

Mr. Elam has been a seasonal resident of Florida since 1983.

Mr. Elam served in the U.S. Army. He was a 33rd Degree Mason and Past Grand Master of Kentucky, and he was a member and elder of West Liberty Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Maureen Elam of West Liberty, KY; son, Jim (Chris) Elam of Port St. Lucie, FL; two daughters, Pam (Jack) Stanford of Huntersville, NC, and Tommye Barie of Sarasota, FL; sister, Georgia Starling; grandchildren Morgan (Harry) Sargeant and Joshua Elam; and great-granddaughter P.J. Sargeant.

Services: A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 5:30-7pm at West Liberty Christian Church in West Liberty, KY. A celebration of life will be held on October 7, 2016 at 11 am at West Liberty Christian Church.
