James F. Roy, Jr., 72, died February 24, 2011 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Roy was born in Lowell, Massachusetts and raised in Nahant, MA and moved to Ft. Pierce in 2002 coming from Stuart, Florida.
He was the proprietor of Daly’s Towing and Recovery, Inc., Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and was a civilian employee the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office for the last 2 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps, past Commandant of the Marine Corps League in Martin County. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch.
Survivors include his sons, James (Mary) Roy, III of Weymouth, MA and John Roy of Boston, MA; daughter, Colleen Roy of Denver, CO; brother, Edward “Ted” Roy of Nahant, MA; sister, Elizabeth Roy of Revere, MA; 1 grandchild. He will also be missed by Michael Moore of Fort Pierce, Florida (grandson of his late wife Lafern). He was preceded in death by his wife, Lafern Moore-Roy.
