James Frank LaCasse-Hammond, age 75, entered into his eternal rest on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Traditions Medical Center after a long courageous battle with Cancer.
He was a loving and devoted husband of 36 years to Barbara Jean Hammond.
Jim was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 11, 1943, son of the late Frank LaCasse and Ruth Hammond.
He lived most of his life in South Florida before moving to Port Saint Lucie in 2000. Jim was employed as a firefighter with Metro Dade Fire Services for 38 years and was a member of Metro Dade FF Union Local #1403.
Jim was a history and movie enthusiast and loved fishing, shooting, and the outdoors. He loved rock ‘n roll and Elvis was his all time favorite. He was a lover of animals and was devoted to his furry companion, Bullet. He was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army and honorably served during the Vietnam War.
He was a proud member of the Stuart- Jensen Elks Lodge #1870, The American Legion Post 318 and the Martin County Sportsman Association.
His memory will be cherished by his loving family, many friends and all that had the pleasure to work or socialize with him.

Survivors include wife of 36 years, Barbara Hammond of Port St. Lucie, Florida. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Hammond.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 3PM – 5PM with a service to start at 5PM at the Haisley Tribute Center 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd Port Saint Lucie, Florida 34984. Guests are invited to a reception immediately following the service.
