James R. Polk

James R. Polk, 87, died May 23, 2021 in Stuart, Florida.
Jim was born in Queens, New York on September 19, 1933 and has resided in Fort Pierce for 28 years coming from South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
He was a career employee of Gruenberg Oven Company/Lunair Marine as an electrician and pharmaceutical oven salesman.
Jim was an avid sports fan, including his love for the New York Giants and New York Mets. His biggest love was cheering for any team his son, Nick was working for, most recently the Atlanta Falcons.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann, brother, Chip, sisters, Connie and Flo along with his parents, Theodore and Madeline.
Survivors include sons, Nickolas (Michelle) Polk of Atlanta, GA and John (Julia) Polk of Lynchburg, VA; daughters, Linda (Skip) Reichert of Bellefonte, PA, Jacqui (Jimmie) Barago of Wantagh, NY and Joanne MacMundo of Levittown, NY. He was proud to have seven grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
In Jim’s honor, raise a pounder of Busch beer or a glass of Paisano.
Memorial contributions can be made in Jim’s name to the Ann Polk Memorial Scholarship Fund at Indian River State College.
Services: Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. A service will follow at 6:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment will take place on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 10:00 AM at White City Cemetery, Fort Pierce. .com
