James Riley Chauncey, Sr., 66, died June 2, 2009 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Chauncey was born in Live Oak, Florida and moved to Ft. Pierce 54 years ago.
He retired after 41 years of dedicated service from the State as Supervisor of the Department of Transportation. He was an avid bowler, reader, collector of knives and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Joy Chauncey; son, J.R. Chauncey; daughter, Amanda Joy Chauncey; brothers, Jerry, Larry and Donald Wayne Chauncey all of Ft. Pierce, FL; sister, Patricia Thomas of Okeechobee, FL; grandchild, Dekota Chauncey of Port St. Lucie, FL. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul, Bill and Roy Chauncey and sister, Alice.
Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009 from 10-11 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM at Haisley Funeral Home.
