He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a master electrician with the IBEW for 55 years in the construction industry.
Survivors include his wife, of 30 years, Betty Sanford; daughters Rhonda Gates, Teresa Sawyer, and Angela O’Connell; son Timothy Sanford; step-sons Wyatt Jenkins, Mark Jenkins, and Matthew Jenkins.

Services: A Memorial Service will be held Friday, November 16, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Freedom Ranch in Okeechobee.
