James was a longtime resisdent of Fort Pierce,FL coming from Sylvania, Georgia in the early 50’s. James received his education in the public schools of Screven County. James worked in the agriculture field until he retired.
A Time To Love:
In 1973 James meet the late Nettie Marie Stevenson and decided that he could not live life without her and married her on December 26, 1973. They remained united until the passing of Nettie.
A Time To Mourn:
The precious memories shall forever linger in the hearts of : A loving step-daughter, Evon(Hary) Johnson of Fort Pierce, FL; step-sons, Isaac(Marlene ) Stevenson of Fort Pierce, FL, Ira (Barbara) Stevenson of Snow Hill, MD; sister, Elizabeth Overstreet of New York City; grandchildren, Erica Wright of Savannah, GA, James Smith of Savannah, GA, Alberta Wright of Savannah, GA; Nine step-grandchildren; 5 great- grandchildren, seventeen step great-grandchildren; one step-great-great grandchild; two sister-in-laws, Annie Mae (Thomas) Stevenson of Snow Hill, MD, Rosie Melbourne of Snow Hill, MD; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. James is preceded in death by his wife, Nettie; mother, Willie Mae Prescott; daughter, Rita Stewart; step-son, Brian Stevenson.
