Jim Whiddon Childs, age 74, passed away on October 22, 2008 in Fort Pierce, FL. He was born in Fort Pierce, and was a life-long resident.
He was a mechanic, a member of Odd Fellows Lodge #30, and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary L. Childs of Fort Pierce; 4 sons, Joseph Childs, Thomas Childs and Charles Childs, all of Fort Pierce and David Childs of Lakeside AZ; 2 sisters, Bernice Holton of Florida and Eleanor Humphrey of Fort Pierce; 1 brother, Stallings Childs of West Palm Beach, FL; and 2 grandchildren.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Treasure Coast, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
Friends may call on Monday, October 27th at Haisley Funeral Home, from 5 – 7 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 28th, at the funeral home, at 1 PM.
