Janet Ellen Serafini

July 2, 1940 — March 9, 2016

Janet Ellen Serafini passed on March 9, 2016 at the age of 75. Janet was also known as “Mom, Ma, Mommy and Grandma Janet” She was born on July 2, 1940 and raised in Chicago, Illinois and was a resident of Fort Pierce, Florida since 1977. She was raised by her beloved Grandmother, Ella Blum.

Janet was and is still one of the most dearly loved mothers and grandmothers in the world. Her blue eyes and warm smile were a comfort to all who were so blessed to know her. Her spirit was as bold and vigorous as her sense of humor and as steadfast as her love. Perhaps that was the most amazing thing about her—her profound ability to love so deeply, with every ounce of her soul. Although Janet lived a quiet life, she touched the hearts of so many. Her memory and the lessons she taught us all—most of all, to slow down and enjoy every second of life—will live forever in us. Her spirit lives on forever. Her love lives on forever. We love you so much, Janet —mother, grandmother, and friend.

Janet had a true love for Mary, the Holy Spirit and of course the St. Anastasia Catholic church and school where she worked for many years.
S
he was a dedicated and giving person who enjoyed sewing and cooking. She loved football, especially the Chicago Bears. Her only rule for her children was to be happy. She was a dedicated person and always a giver.

She was a mother of nine children and survived by her daughter, Sera Fini Addison and husband James “Bubba” and son Frank Serafini and wife Renee and daughters Sidonia Rose and Savannah, son Michael Serafini and daughters Angel and Rayna Dai, and son Kelly Serafini and wife Ada and daughters Ellie Ann and Kelly Marie and great granddaughter Audrey Elizabeth.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Indian River State College Foundation in honor of Janet Serafini. Funds will go toward the establishment of a scholarship for a disabled veteran or a woman with special needs.
