Jay William Benny, 62, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2020 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Jay was born in Washington, DC and moved to Port St. Lucie, FL. from Maryland 20 years ago.
He loved his wife, 2 sons and his cat, Mellow. Jay was an avid softball player with the Port St. Lucie Sharks and truly loved all of his softball family. He thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with his friends at Shea’s Pub and was very active in fishing and golfing. Jay loved the Washington Redskins and always supported his team.
Jay was a licensed contractor in Florida with Pinnacle South Builders and loved his profession.
Jay also proudly served his country in the National Guard.
Survivors include his loving wife of 12 years, Denise Ann Benny of Port St. Lucie, FL.; sons, Wayne William Benny of Maryland, Lance (Jennifer) Ralph Benny of Maryland; grandsons, Matthew Benny of Maryland, Colin Benny of Maryland, Tyler Benny of Maryland; sisters, Kathy (Bill) Munson of Maryland, Patty (Jerry) Popelka of Winter Haven, FL.; brother, Ray (Martha) Frenette of Lake Wales, FL.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, William & Evelyn Benny and his step-mother, Helen Benny.
Services will be held at a later date at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, FL.
