Jean Claire Shaw, 80, died February 24, 2012, in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Jean was born in the Bronx, New York, and was a resident of Fort Pierce since 1989, coming from West Hempstead, New York.
She was a graduate of Walton High School, Bronx, NY, a member of the CCW of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Vice President of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, the St. Lucie Pioneers and was employed for 13 years by Nursing Sisters Home Visiting Service.
Survivors include her sons, Edmund (Patricia) Shaw of Oceanside, NY, William Shaw of East Setauket, NY; daughter, Mary Ellen (Patrick) DeStefano of West Hempstead, NY; sister, Madeline Valentine of Brick, NJ and 5 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Shaw.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jean’s memory to Hospice of the Treasure Coast, 5000 Dunn Road, Ft. Pierce, FL 34981.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 27th, 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home with Prayer Service at 5:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 28th at 10:00 AM at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Riverview Memorial Park.
