Mrs. Jean Baroco Guettler of Fort Pierce, 75, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, April 20, 2011.

Mrs. Guettler was born on April 27, 1935 in Pensacola, Florida. The oldest of six children, she attended St. Mary’s Dominican College in New Orleans, Louisiana earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Upon graduation, she taught school at Sacred Heart School in Pensacola before moving to Vero Beach in 1961. While teaching at St. Helen’s School she met George E. Guettler. They were married on October 13, 1962 in Silverhill, Alabama. A gifted educator, she maintained her teaching license and continued as a substitute teacher and tutor while raising her family.

She is survived by her husband, George, of Fort Pierce; four daughters, Michelle Castellan and her husband, Bill, of Front Royal, VA; Margaret Summers and her husband, Todd of Fort Pierce; Amy Zuberbueler and her husband, Patrick, of San Antonio, TX; Jennie Zuberbueler and her husband, Bill, of Comstock, TX; 12 grandchildren, Michael, Clare, Theresa and Joseph Castellan; George, Matthew, Henry, Brendan, and Paul Summers; Margaret, William and John Zuberbueler. She is also survived by her aunt, Rose Acton of Pensacola, FL; brothers, Joe Baroco and his wife, Helen, of Daphne, AL; Henry and his wife, Gigi, of Foley, AL; Dr. Paul Baroco and his wife, Lori, of Pensacola, FL; Pat and his wife, Joanne, of Fairhope, AL; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and J. Fred Baroco; brother and sister in law, Michael and Ann Baroco.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Pregnancy Care Center of Fort Pierce, 1119 Delaware Ave, Fort Pierce, FL 34950.

A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Monday, April 25 from 4-5 pm at Haisley Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, April 26 at 1 pm at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Jensen Beach with burial following at Riverview Memorial Park in Fort Pierce. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
