Jean Hilda Lamb
1939-2020

On Monday, January 20, 2020, Jean Hilda Lamb, loving wife and mother of 4 children, entered into eternal rest in Fort Pierce, Florida at the age of 80.

Jean was born in Birmingham, England to Samuel Fredrick Arch and Hilda (Dickenson) Arch on July 21st, 1939. She was the eldest of the three siblings.

Jean attended comprehensive school in Birmingham, England, and began her career as a successful businesswoman. She launched her career as a remarkable office manager; always organized (nothing got past her), things always ran smooth on Jean’s watch! Jean continued her dream by furthering her career and her quest for independence. She returned to school for real estate and tackled the housing market becoming a successful, independent broker before ultimately retiring.

When Jean wasn’t busy at work, she loved to garden in the yard or watch the soap opera, General Hospital. You knew never to call her when her program was on or she would scold you and/or rush you off the phone.

Jean also loved to travel with one of her favorite destinations being Cape Town, South Africa. Because of her love for “Big Cats”, she embraced the safaris and cherished watching the animals in their natural environment. This blossomed into an obsession and she began following, Big Cat Rescue, a sanctuary for abandoned and abused large cats. She knew each cat by name and loved to watch them interact with one another. Jean embraced the opportunity to observe different ways of living and this truly humbled her. She took nothing for granted.

Jean always knew she wanted a family. She married early on in her life, having 4 beautiful children. Her journey eventually brought her to James Lamb, whom she met in Birmingham, England in 1978. Jean eventually remarried and James became her life partner to this day. Jean’s family happily grew with the addition of James’s 2 children from his previous marriage.

Jean is and always will be the beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her life will forever leave a lasting impact on all of us. We will miss her contagious smile. While she has earned her wings in heaven, we are left with everlasting memories and a longing to see her again. We know in our hearts; she is forever walking beside us.

Jean is survived by her husband James; her brothers, Kenneth and David; her children, Julie, Paul, Louise, and Tina; her stepchildren Caroline and Amanda; and her grandchildren, DeAnna, Jason, Abigail, Emily, Ian, Noah, Sarah and Michael.
