Jean Ann Miller Minton, 67, passed away on June 19th of 2021 at her home in Fort Pierce, Florida.
She was born on October 7th of 1953 in Waterloo, Ohio to Homer Kenneth Miller & Beulah Wilma Miller.
Jean grew up on the family farm in Waterloo, Ohio and at the age of 16 her family moved to Ft. Pierce, FL in 1969.
Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She took great pride in being a homemaker, supporting those she loved. She took exceptional care of her husband, three daughters, and six grandchildren of four grandsons and two granddaughters. She loved being in nature especially at the beach; making beautiful jewelry; sewing; and listening to music, notably classic rock, Christian rock, and country. Her favorite holiday was Christmas because she found great joy in discovering the perfect gifts for each family member and planning holidays full of love for the family’s enjoyment. Her favorite time of year was when the leaves change color and fall in the Appalachian Mountains of Highlands, NC. She loved riding around in the woods and the groves with her husband, and enjoyed being his hunting buddy.
Jean also loved helping to raise her granddaughters, caring for them while their parents worked. She was a long-distance runner and an excellent host of social events for the family. She enjoyed crafting wreathes and floral arrangements for gifts, cooking, maintaining a happy home, and vacationing in Highlands, NC and at the family’s ranch, Longino Ranch, in Sidell, FL.
Survivors include her husband, Berryman Thomas “Tom” Minton of Ft. Pierce, FL; siblings of a twin sister, Janet Miller, and brother, Leslie Miller, both of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughter Joan McKinney married to Justin McKinney of Greeneville, TN, daughter Laura Young married to Robert Young of Melbourne, FL, and daughter Shirley Minton of Gainesville, FL; Grandchildren of Garrett, Gabriel, Gideon, Griffin, Juliana, and Embree.
Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, June 25th of 2021 from 12:00-1:00 PM with a service to follow at 1:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce, FL. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
