Jeane M. Younger, 91, of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2014, in Port St. Lucie, FL. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on January 6, 1923, to Louis and Helen Kath. Mrs. Younger was a draftsman during World War II. Subsequently, she married, became a mother, and lived extensively throughout the United States, travelling in accordance with her husband’s work. She moved to Lutz, Florida, in 1959. During that time, she was an active volunteer at Lutz Elementary School and at the Lutz library. She has lived in Fort Pierce since 1985. Jeane was actively involved with the Buddy Club of Fort Pierce, serving first as decorations coordinator and later as president. Her hobbies included ballroom dancing, singing, sewing, and writing.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Maxwell, son-in-law Jack Maxwell, grandchildren Stephanie Fowler (Brian) and Stephen Maxwell (Karen), great grandchildren Faith Fowler and Lucas Fowler, and brother Marvin Kath.
She was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Helen Kath, husband, Oliver Younger, son Jeffery Younger and by sister, Marguerite Ihlenfeld.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests friends to individually celebrate Jeane’s life.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
