Jeanne M. (Burns) DeVaney, 94, of Ft. Pierce, passed away on Friday evening, December 11, 2015, at the Treasure Coast Hospice House, Ft. Pierce.
She was born July 18, 1921, in Bridgeport, PA, the daughter of the late George and Margaret (McLaughlin) Burns. She was a long time resident of the Trenton, NJ area, and a graduate of Cathedral High School moving to Ocean Village, Ft. Pierce in 1980.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. DeVaney was employed as a secretary with the Diocese of Trenton, NJ.
Mrs. DeVaney was an avid golfer, tennis player and bridge player. In her later years, she enjoyed watching the Mass and sports on T.V. as well as reading. She was also a Parishioner of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Jeanne was the wife of Bernard A. DeVaney of 48 years, who died in 1994, and is survived by a son, John B. (Diane) DeVaney of Langhorne, PA; daughters, Mary K. (Rod) Lechtenberger of Ft. Pierce and Michele M. (Mike) Perry of Odessa; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Joseph G. Burns of Trenton ,NJ; sisters, Patricia Guscior of Hamilton, NJ and Sr. Marie Burns of Albany, NY; several nieces and nephews; she was also the mother of the late Robert G. DeVaney, who died in 1998.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at 11am at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1924 Zephyr Ave., Ft. Pierce. A Mass will be Celebrated on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 9:30am in St. Anthony Church, 626 S. Olden Ave., Trenton, NJ.
