Jeannie Tabscott, 64, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida passed away December 29, 2016 in Fort Pierce, Florida after fighting cancer with strength and dignity for over two years.
Jeannie was born in Washington D.C. and lived in Ohio with her family until coming to West Palm Beach her Junior year in High School. Jeannie lived in Port Saint Lucie, Florida for over 24 years.
Jeannie was in the banking industry for over 40 years. After retiring, she became a crossing guard for the Port Saint Lucie Police Department and it was her absolute favorite job. She loved all of the children that she assisted as part of her crossing guard job; even making friends with some of the parents of those children. One time Jeannie and Stephanie went to a baseball game of one of those same children. She would always call them “her kids” and even gave some of them congratulation cards as they left middle school and headed into high school, since she would not be seeing them the following year.. She truly had a heart of gold, a constant smile on her face, and always thought of others.
She was nominated by one of the officers for the Citizen of the Quarter award and received it proudly. After retiring from the banking industry, Jeannie also went back to school and obtained a Technical Certificate in Business and Accounting.
She was a strong, kind hearted, Christian woman. Jeannie was an amazing mother, a loving sister, daughter, and friend. She loved taking care of her grand animals, family, friends, and helping others. Jeannie was such an amazing woman that Stephanie’s family in Maryland still considered her part of the family; even after she was divorced from Stephanie’s father.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Treasure Coast Hospice 1201 SE Indian Street Stuart, Florida 34997;
