Jenifer Suzanne Rhoden
Port St. Lucie, FL

Jenifer Suzanne Rhoden, 35, passed away and entered heaven’s gates on January 14, 2016 after bravely battling colon and liver cancer. She died peacefully surrounded by family at her home in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was born on October 5, 1980 in Martinsville, Indiana.

She is survived by her beloved 6-year old daughter, Carolina Marie Tillman, her parents, Marvin and Donna Rhoden, and her brother, Johnnie Rhoden. She is also survived by several Indiana residents, including, but not limited to, Mitzie Forbes (grandmother), and uncles, John B. Forbes, Melvin Rhoden, Kenny Rhoden, and Dan Rhoden, as well as aunts, Joyce Rhoden and Marcy Skelton, along with their respective spouses and family members.

As a child, Jenifer was a Brownie Scout and played Little League Softball. She was also an active children’s choir participant appearing in spiritual musical productions and holiday pageants at Morningside Friends Church in Port St. Lucie.

Jenifer spent countless hours under her father’s tutelage helping with game day operations of the local Jr. Jaguars Basketball League that evolved into today’s City of Port St. Lucie Parks & Recreation Jr. Basketball program.

Jenifer attended Port St. Lucie High School and studied at Indian River Community College (IRCC) and the University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM). Jenifer lived in the spirit of, “Once a PSLHS Jaguar, always a Jaguar,” and particularly supported the PSLHS Jaguar Varsity Baseball Team.

Her love of art led eventually her to graphic artistry where her talent was recognized when she won industry awards while working in both newsprint and private printing environments.

Jenifer was known by friends and family for her beautiful smile, sense of humor and fun loving spirit, as well as her kindness and always quick offer to help others.
