On February 11, 2024, God lovingly embraced Jerri home. She was 82. She was a loving mother, nana, aunt, and friend. Born in Fort Pierce to Gilbert and Della Hamilton, she was the fourth of five children.
Jerri worked for Butterfield Drugs, Haisley Funeral Home, St. Anastasia Catholic Church and retired from St. Lucie County Schools. She married Jon Shimer in 1998 and moved to Luraville, Florida in 2005. Jon and she loved to travel and took several cruises. Following his death in 2006, she moved to Port Orange, Florida before returning to Fort Pierce. Jerri was a parishioner of Saint Lucie Catholic Church.
Jerri loved to garden but her most precious gift was her family. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Patti) Willems, Jason (Lea-Ann) Willems; daughter, Alana (Ron) Bartoe; grandchildren, Joshua Willems, Benjamin (Ruth) Willems, Morgan (Ryan) Palladino, Hunter, Della, and Gracie Willems; and two great-grandchildren, Jayden and Timothy Willems.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Della Hamilton, brothers, Jimmy and Morgan Hamilton, sisters, Mary Ellen& Erma Cobb, and husband, Jon Shimer.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Saint Lucie Catholic Church.
