Jerry Wayne Bennett, age 52, passed away on January 11, 2020 in his home in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Jerry was born November 17, 1967 to the late Jerry Pat and Rebecca Bennett in Mobile, Alabama. Jerry grew up in Springfield, Missouri where he graduated from Parkview High School in 1986. He excelled in vocal music, basketball, and golf. Participating in his church youth group at First Baptist Church, Battlefield, MO was a highlight to him. He also cherished the memories singing in a select Christian singing group, “Sweet Spirits”, performing throughout the state in churches and at community events.
Jerry worked in banking and his the family’s sign and screen printing business as he studied at Southwest Missouri State University, graduating with an Agricultural Business Degree in 1995.
Jerry married the love of his life, Harriet Joann Brockman, in 1993, and was blessed with two beautiful daughters. Jerry went on to work in the pharmaceutical industry, the food and beverage industry and in convenience stores as both Sales Representative and Distrubution and Operations Managers.
Jerry is remembered for his compassion and friendliness shown to anyone he would meet. He leaves a legacy of love for the Lord and a passion for telling everyone he met that God loves them and that Christ died for them. We will each strive to emulate the love he showed to all. Jerry is survived by his wife, Harriet Bennett, daughters Gabrielle and Kierstin, his mother Becky Bennett, sister Autumn Desmuke and brother-in-law Alex Desmuke, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he loved very much.
