Jewell Newman Kelley Daggett went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 5, 2006. She was born on March 31, 1915 in Houston County, Alabama.
A Ft. Pierce resident for the last 28 years, she was a giving and faithful member of First Baptist Church of White City. She will always be remembered as a woman who dearly loved God, her family, gospel music, reading the Bible, dominos, fishing, crossword puzzles, baking and talking and visiting with family and friends. She cherished her membership with the Eastern Star, as well as her time as a seamstress and tailor, making uniforms for officers stationed at Ft. Benning, Georgia during the war. She was known as a kind and loving person who never met a stranger.Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jack Newman (wife, Joyce), Wynette Eggler (husband, Raymond), Dolores Pike (husband, Robert) and Mary Whitaker; grandchildren, Ray Eggler, Karen Fiorillo, Jennifer Lemieux, Michelle Oakes, Randall Whitaker, Earl Whitaker, Ronald Whitaker, Marilyn Anderson, Holden Whitaker, Debra Lanton, Gloria Miller and Sydney Whitaker; sisters, Sybil Wirick and Dorothy Hannah and numerous great-grandchildren.Greeting her in heaven was daughter, Dianne Dichiara, and husbands, Vincent Kelley and Gene Daggett.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3375 20th Street, Suite 100, Vero Beach, Florida 32960.
