Joan B. Compton, 74, died June 10, 2007 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.Mrs. Compton was born in Albany, New York and moved to Florida in 1983 coming from Glastonbury, Connecticut.She was a registered nurse. Her love was her children, grandchildren, friends and her dog, Rebel.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandy (Glenn Fukunaga) Bowman of Austin, TX; son, David (Carrie) Bowman of Houston, TX; daughter, Pam (Howard) Meyer of Atlanta, GA; son, Greg (Jean) Bowman of Richmond, VA; brother, George (June) Schubert of Murrells Inlet, SC; sister-in-law, Marylyn Bowman of Wethersfield, CT; step-children, Pamela Wilson, Debra Chavez, Kimberly Westcott and Christie Johnson; grandchildren, Erin Gorham of New York, NY, Stacey Stavinoha of Houston, TX, Corey Stavinoha of Houston, TX, Bailey Bowman and Carley Bowman both of Houston, TX, Jessica Meyer and Melissa Meyer both of Atlanta, GA, Dylan Bowman and Kelsey Bowman both of Richmond, VA; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Compton.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Southeast Florida, 2701 N. Services: A celebration of Joan’s life will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Panther Woods Club House, Ft. Pierce.
