Joan G. Lehmann, 93, died December 20, 2009, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 29, 1916, in Copenhagen, Denmark. She worked with the Danish Resistance during World War II. She married and moved to the US in the late 1940's. She was a ship's chandler in Newport News, VA in the 1960's. She lived in Fort Pierce in the 1970's, returned to Denmark, and moved back to Fort Pierce in 1990.
In her younger years, she enjoyed dancing to the Big Band Music of the 1930's and '40's. She had a lifelong appreciation of music and the flowers she planted in her yard.
She is survived by three children, Joan M. Midgette, Margaret Midgette, and Ben Midgett, and two grandchildren.
There will be no services at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
