Joan was born in Washington, D.C., and was a resident of Fort Pierce since 1971, coming from Washington, D.C. She was a clerk in the retail business, enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and going to the beach.
Survivors include her son, Steven Pendergraph of Keystone Heights, FL; daughter, Michele Lindsey of Yorktown, VA; sisters, Mary Pendergraph of Beltsville, MD and Anne Purdy of Fairfax, VA; brother, Matthew Carroll of Fairfax, VA; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made in Joan’s memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (Treasure Coast) at 3222-D Commerce Place, West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
