Joan Ann Smith

Joan A. (Duffney) Smith passed away in the early morning of August 5, 2024. Joan was born on August 16, 1933, in Troy, NY to Anna (Mayba) Duffney and Frank Duffney. Joan was married to E. Tyler Smith on July 3, 1952, and shared many wonderful years traveling and playing golf together until her illness in 2019 and Ty’s passing in 2023. 

While living in New York, Joan worked for many years in sales and was also a member of the Shaker Ridge Country Club where she enjoyed playing golf and socializing.

Joan was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her sisters Shirley and Slyvia and brother Peter.

Joan is also survived by her sisters, Gloria and Theresa. She is survived by her son E. Tyler Smith Jr (wife Mary Severance), daughter Toni Jodlowski (Rick Jodlowski).

 She is also survived by her grandsons Todd Smith, Erik Smith, Jeremy Smith (wife Brooke), Steven Jodlowski (fiancé Sarah Lococo), Peter Jodlowski (wife Sarah). Great Grandsons, Tommy Smith, Tyler Smith, Avery Smith. Great-Great Granddaughter Taylor Smith, Great-grandson Charley Jodlowski. Great-Great Granddaughter Sophia Smith and Great-Great Grandson Lucas Smith.

 She will be remembered by many lifelong friends and in-laws, Ginny Charboneau and Judy Williams as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

 Graveside services will be held in Memory Gardens, in NY at a later date.
