Joe H. Benefiel, Jr.

Joe H. Benefiel, Jr., 79 years of age, resided in Fort Pierce, FL, and passed away on April 12, 2024.

Joe was born on December 30, 1944 to parents Joe Benefiel, Sr. and Shirley Searcy in Highland, Illinois. He graduated from Dan McCarty High School and went on to study Accounting in college, where he earned his master’s degree.

He served in the United States Air Force and also owned several businesses throughout his life. He was passionate about his love for God, family, and our country, which was evident in his everyday life.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, Joe; daughter, Lora; grandchildren, Joshua, Jason, and Hope; sisters, Sally (brother-in-law Nolan) and Carol (brother-in-law Jamie); and many nieces and nephews.

Jow enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, including archery, a connoisseur of guns, sailboat racing, horseback riding, and fishing. He is missed by all, and his memory is treasured.

Services will be held at Haisley Funeral Home on April 20, 2024 with a visitation at 4:30 PM, a celebration of life from 5 PM to 6 PM (with Pastor Tim O’Carroll officiating), and a reception from 6 PM to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Tunnel to Towers, an organization Joe felt strongly about.

Gentleness, kindness, and generosity were strong character assets that Joe possessed. Joe had a soft spot for those in need and tirelessly cared for our mother/Granny during the last 10 years of her life. Joe has a strong, loving family who he modeled to always put God first. As Joe would say, “Stay safe and watch your six!”
